What to Expect at The Recovery Village Salem

Choosing addiction or mental health rehab is a pivotal moment. Discover what awaits you to embark confidently on your journey toward getting your life back from addiction.

Checking in at Inpatient Rehab

We prioritize individualized attention by scheduling admission times promptly upon your call. Arriving on time ensures our care team can dedicate their full attention to your needs, minimizing any delays.

For the safety and sobriety of all patients, each resident must agree to a search of their person and belongings upon arrival. Staff will collect any prohibited items and store them securely until your departure. Random searches may occur during your stay at The Recovery Village Salem.

COVID-19 Notice

The Recovery Village Salem is taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of all patients, employees and the communities we serve. We are following the latest CDC recommendations for controlling the spread of COVID-19, including testing, face masks and enhanced sanitation protocols.

Our Treatment Process

At The Recovery Village Salem, treatment starts with a program customized to each patient’s needs, progressing to lower levels of care as they advance. Typically, this begins with medical detox, followed by inpatient or outpatient care.

The duration of your stay depends on your program, customized treatment plan, recovery journey, and insurance coverage. Typically, clients may experience:

  • 7–10 days of medical detox
  • 30–45 days of residential onsite addiction treatment, including medical detox and inpatient rehab
  • 14–30 days of residential mental health care

Now that you’ve decided to begin treatment at The Recovery Village Salem, it’s time to prepare for your stay.

At our facility, clients can enjoy meals prepared by our on-site chef in a full-service cafeteria. Offering a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner — including vegetarian selections. Each meal is crafted to be both delicious and nutritious, supporting patients’ physical and mental well-being as they progress in their recovery journey. Snacks are also available to ensure you have access to healthy food throughout the day.

Please refrain from bringing outside snacks or meals into the facility for the safety of all clients, and inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions beforehand so we can accommodate you.

Residents at The Recovery Village Salem may take designated smoke breaks based on their treatment plan. Bring enough unopened cigarettes, disposable vapes or tobacco products for your stay; no nicotine patches are allowed. Smoking cessation products may be available during treatment.

Please note: patients under the age of 21 will not have the opportunity to purchase tobacco products during their stay. Our staff is not able to provide or purchase tobacco products for patients under the age of 21.

Nearly all health insurance plans require you to pay some out-of-pocket costs in order to access your healthcare benefits (collectively, the “Patient Responsibility”). Your individual Patient Responsibility will vary.

An intake coordinator will review your Patient Responsibility with you when you’re admitted or as soon as you are medically stable. They will explain the deductible is due during admission and that the co-insurance amount and out-of-pocket balance will be billed and paid for once services are complete. Onsite financial counselors will review your financial responsibility again during treatment with case managers who can help you navigate FMLA and short-term disability.

It is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider prior to admitting at The Recovery Village Salem to make sure you understand your individual benefits plan. Please note that your insurance plan may not be a “participating provider” with The Recovery Village Salem. You are responsible for all non-covered and out-of-pocket costs related to your treatment stay.
