While it is highly recommended that most patients schedule their admission in advance, our doors are open to walk-ins needing inpatient rehab.
To avoid longer wait times, we highly recommend scheduling your admission in advance. However, The Recovery Village Salem does accept walk-ins for our most intensive substance abuse treatment between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Keep in mind that walking in does not guarantee admission. Before admitting you, our Recovery Advocates will verify:
Before entering the facility, our reception team may ask a few screening questions to verify your eligibility for our rehab services and looking for same-day admission. For any other questions or concerns, our admissions phone line is available to assist you.
Once you arrive, you’ll be directed to a waiting area with a dedicated admissions phone line. From there, you’ll complete your pre-assessment, insurance verification, and approval process. If approved, we’ll provide you with an estimated wait time, as walk-ins are processed alongside scheduled admissions. Admission is not guaranteed.
While waiting, you can relax in a comfortable space with TV access, and your luggage will be securely stored nearby but within view.
When your admission is ready to begin, our staff will conduct a mandatory search of your person and belongings to ensure the safety and sobriety of all residents. Any prohibited items will be securely stored until your stay is over. Random searches may occur throughout your treatment.
We highly recommend scheduling your admission in advance, as it offers several advantages:
At The Recovery Village Salem, patients start their recovery journey in a personalized treatment program, with the potential to step down to lower levels of care as they make progress. Typically, treatment begins with medical detox, followed by either inpatient or intensive outpatient care.
Walk-ins are only accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
If we cannot admit you at The Recovery Village Salem, we’ll refer you to another rehab facility we trust that will be a better fit for your needs. Our community outreach team member will work with you for a smooth transition to the next stage of your recovery.
Unfortunately, we cannot arrange transportation to or from the facility for walk-ins. If you need assistance with transportation, call us to schedule your admission.
Federal laws and workplace policies are in place to protect people who want to recover from addiction. Understanding your rights as an employee and having a plan can help you keep your job during treatment. If you’re considering using FMLA benefits to protect your job while you’re in rehab, it’s really important to start the process as soon as possible, even before you arrive for treatment. You’ll need to contact your employer to start the paperwork required for FMLA. To protect your privacy, you only need to say you’re seeking medical treatment.
At most facilities, only one (1) piece of luggage will be accepted. Remember that our team must review your luggage and securely store any contraband items for the duration of your stay. You can find our packing list and policies online.
Your luggage will be kept separate from you while you wait for admission approval, unopened and still in your sight. This is important for patient safety and maintaining a substance-free environment. If you’re unable to start treatment with us, your luggage will be returned to you unopened. If you are accepted for admission, a thorough search of your luggage will be necessary before starting care.
Scheduled admission appointments are prioritized over walk-ins, so there may be a wait time after you’ve been approved. An estimated wait time will be provided but is not guaranteed.
